The island as sculpture
Here the island is not clad, it is composed: a full stone envelope with mitred 45° joints on every visible face, so the piece reads as a solid block rather than panels on a carcass.
Veining is matched across each mitre, which requires the slab layout to be planned before any stone is cut — and enough slab area from the same block to allow for it. German cabinetry, |hand-finished in London| by one team.
Selecting and cutting the stone
We select the block with you at the yard, photograph it and mark the cut sequence. Templating is done by laser after the cabinetry is installed, and the mitres are dry-assembled at the fabricator before delivery.
Quiet joinery
The perimeter is neutral painted or pale veneered joinery with no strong colour and no visible hardware, existing purely to service the island. Storage is pushed into a single tall bank so the working wall stays low.
Living with a stone island
Marble patinas. Sealed on installation and resealed every two to three years, it develops a soft surface history rather than damage. For clients who want the same geometry with no maintenance, the whole envelope can be executed in sintered stone.

Asked often.
How much stone does a mitred island need?
Typically two to three slabs from the same block, depending on island size — the matching requirement, not the surface area, drives the quantity.
Is a marble island practical?
It patinas. Sealed and maintained it holds up well, but if you want no change at all we execute the identical geometry in sintered stone.
How much does a sculpted marble island kitchen cost in London?
Most projects fall between £48,000 and £120,000 fitted, with the stone selection accounting for the widest variation of any collection we make. No middlemen.
